One list, then the return.
A return prepared from a different equipment story than the one you mailed to the district is how a later notice starts. We prepare the company return and the personal return from months the statement already matches, and the equipment lines are the same lines that answered the letter.
A depreciation schedule that nobody has opened since the truck was new will not match the floor. What a visitor sees in a building and what the file still lists are two readings. We only trust the file when the months were kept. We do not guess a number so the return looks finished. A month the bank has not matched stays off both returns. We would rather leave a line blank than borrow a figure from a month that is still open.
Owner pay belongs in the same conversation, before the year closes, not as a surprise on the return. If the wage you pay yourself and the wage a clinic would pay for the same week have drifted apart, October is the month to look. We do not print a target. We look at your year.
What has to be true first.
The chart of accounts has to be one chart. A second set of categories that exists only inside the tax file will not survive a lender or a notice. We map the chart so spring can follow the close without rebuilding it.
Deposits get the same honesty. A clinic week, a plant shipment, and a Saturday at the market can share a bank account. If you still need to know which one paid the crew, they need separate income lines.
Estimated payments live on the close calendar, not on a separate scrap of paper. A balance that appears for the first time in April is a balance we would rather have shown you in October, while a purchase or a wage change could still move it.
The boundary stays short.
We prepare the return. Signing an opinion on the statements is not a signature we hold. A lender letter that wants that signature gets a plain no on the first call. That boundary has its own section on the disclosures page.
You can read this page and decide the work is smaller than you feared. A list repair and one closed month is sometimes the whole job. If that is the size of it, we will say so on the call about the letter.
