Sales tax, the May report, the school stack, and the rendition date sit on one calendar with the close.

Sales tax inside the city.

State sales tax is 6.25 percent. Local code 2243016 is this city's own two percent. The Comptroller table shows no transit authority, no county sales tax, and no special district under that city row. The stack stops at 8.25 percent. That combined sales tax is filed by the twentieth of the next month.

A festival weekend, a hot week of road work, and an ordinary Tuesday can share one deposit. They should not share one unlabeled line if you still need to know which one happened. We split the deposit before the twentieth, not after a notice arrives.

A hot week and a quiet week still share the twentieth. The sales tax for those weeks is due on that day, and the same date holds now. We do not move the filing because the week was hard. The twentieth stays on the close calendar beside the month, so a busy week cannot hide the filing. We read that date with the bank match, not after a notice.

The May report and the April list.

If revenue for report year 2026 or 2027 stays under 2,650,000 dollars, the franchise computation can come out at zero. Retail or wholesale is 0.375 percent. Other businesses are 0.75 percent. May fifteenth is the day that franchise report is due. A zero result does not take the May report off the list. File with the rate that belongs to that report year, not the rate from the year before. Those two report years take their threshold from the Comptroller's franchise page.

Rendition is usually due on the fifteenth of April. A written request can move it to the fifteenth of May. The district's own page says tangible personal property used to produce income belongs on the form, including inventory, furniture, fixtures, and machinery. That is the list the letter is asking for.

Hotel tax is separate from sales tax. The city has said its hotel rate is 9 percent and the combined rate with the state piece is 15 percent, collected from the guest, and due on the twentieth of the following month. A short stay over a full weekend still has to land in the month the guest slept there.

The property stack most blocks see.

Wichita Falls ISD covers 91.02 percent of the city's census blocks. Its 2025 posted rate is 1.075287 per 100 dollars. Maintenance and operations accounts for 0.6822, and interest and sinking accounts for 0.393087. County tax beside the school piece is 0.521303 per 100 dollars, and the city piece beside it is 0.6825. Added together that primary stack is 2.27909 per 100 dollars. City View ISD and Burkburnett ISD cover smaller shares of the blocks, and a business on the line between them should not assume the larger district.

A rate on this page is a public year, never the bill for one parcel. A special district on a single parcel can add more. We use the stack so the close has a place to park property tax, not so a page can pretend to be your notice. The city piece and the school piece stay on their own lines before anyone adds them.

Memorial Auditorium has stood since 1927, and the hall still hosts the town. We can respect that civic pride, and we do not pretend the concert was ours. The tax calendar does not pause for a concert weekend. Receipts from that weekend still belong in the month they were earned.
